Shiny New Products | Stencils

December 11, 2018

We are thrilled to introduce Fox Cuts - adorable stencils and masks. They're a wonderful way of adding texture or detail to a project. They're so versatile and durable, you'll be reaching for  them again and again.

My scrapping style is more clean lines rather than inky and painty. However, I do love a bit of neat texture! Fox Cuts are perfect for this as you can fully control where your ink or paint goes.

I wanted to create a fun vibrant layout to reflect the day out I had with my lovely crafty friends. I started with my Fox Cuts to draw attention to the photo and embellishments.

Starting with Fox Cut #1 I laid down the little dots (I used Distress Oxide - Pistachio). My favourite blending tool is good ol' cut and dry but you can use brushes or a blending tool to achieve the same effect. Notice how I've faded out at the edges. This is easy when you start in the middle and work your way outwards.

Next I overlaid Fox Cuts #6 here and there. I used a darker shade and created a more intense pattern (Distress Oxides - Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry). My last colour was a Distress Ink - Festive Berries. You can use any type of colouring medium with the stencils. Just take care if your medium is very fluid. Outlining the shapes with a fine liner adds more detail and gives the look of a stamped image.

I created a fun border with crepe paper - ruched under the scallop border which I cut by hand. I tucked in some chipboard and Perspextives for added interest.

It was a great challenge to myself to breathe new life into some really old products and collections.

You can see all the new Fox Cuts here. There is 15% off until the end of the year. Just enter FOXCUTS15 at the checkout.

Thanks for stopping by.
