Cherish The Little Things | Nicole Kerr

Hello Bramble Fox friends!

Nicole here, and today I am super excited to be sharing a fun, colorful, mixed media layout with you featuring the beautiful May Fox Box!

The colors in the May box just scream spring to me! I had to pull out some pastel mists and a few of my favorite pattern papers to create today's layout!

I began my project by using two pastel spray mists in pink and purple. Once dry, I layered five circle and machine stitched them to my page, following the curved lines of the patterns. I really like using machine stitching when I do mixed media because it helps to flatten out my paper and it doesn't appear as warped from the sprays.

Next, I placed my photo and photo layers and began to layer different embellishments and ephemera around the photo. I used a tag to add my journaling and hid it behind my photo. I used a paperclip with a tassel for something to "grab a hold of" to pull the journaling tag in and out.

I added a cluster of trees to the right of my photo along with the "cherish the little things" piece as my title. I also used the two color matching hearts, one open and one closed, to add a visual triangle and bring the title together with the rest of the page.

Lastly, I added a few clear embellishments to add a little something more around the page. This helps to bring more texture and move the eye around the page.
