Get Your Scrap On || July's Summer Recipe Challenge

I couldn't wait to do this page! I was SO thrilled to meet Morag Cutts at the recent Dotty About Flair Crop in Cheshire, UK. And I do feel a bit like I've cheated since I'm using so many custom Perspextives that were available at the crop -- but I will give you some alternatives that are available in the shop.

SO HERE'S THE CHALLENGE:

I really LOVE recipe challenges and this one is really fun because it's wide open and can be used with any type of design, from minimal to more-is-more. My design was influenced by a 3-photo sketch by my friend Lisa Sikorski in her Scrap A Sketch Facebook group, but I used only two blocks, one for a photo cluster and the other for a title cluster.

Just to add some punch to the clusters I started out with the Circles Stencil and brushed a peachy color of Distress Oxide through. I knew I'd have open rectangle frames that would allow the circles to show through and I just love how this little bit of color and pattern complemented the boxy lines of the clusters.

Once I defined the clusters with blocks of paper from Simple Stories "Let's Get Crafty" line, I added the photo and immediately saw the perfect place for this "Say Cheese" frame from the July Fox Box. I LOVE the coral color -- goes so well with the Sunchaser colors. And don't you just love that little green ink pad sticker? That collection just really hits home, doesn't it?

To the left of the photo I used a pretty peachy "craft time" sign tucked under a popped up floral sticker from the Let's Get Crafty sticker book.

And just above the photo I used an adorable palette and paintbrush. These crafty pieces were exclusive to the Crop but there are lots of crafty goodies in the shop. I'll give you a few links at the end.

This title piece is from another Crop-exclusive set but keep watching the shop because exclusives sometimes show up there! I love the mix of fonts here and it's just perfect for documenting everything from "big" events like crops and retreats to afternoons scrapping with friends to Zoom and Cyber Crops.

And who doesn't have a use for a pink paint tube and a peachy brush? And the coral circle from the older Holey Moley set just fills in that corner perfectly with another shade from the paper line.

Here are just a few of the crafty/scrappy sets available in the shop: For a different font and color way "Say Cheese" you can try this set. The Make Pretty Things set celebrates all that we crafters love to do. And you'll find lots of smaller crafty icons in the Crafty Bits set which I just LOVE! And because we're essentially addicted to making pretty things with crafty bits all the time, the Craft 365 set is just made for us crafty folks.

Be sure to check out the challenge on our Facebook Group and post your page there to be eligible for the drawing. You might win a nice bit of cash to spend in the store on YOUR favorite crafty bits!
