Love This Life - Joanne Bartell

Hello Foxy Crafters! I'm sharing my take on Antonia Sherlock’s April flowers and leaves challenge, which is perfect for me as those are two of my favorite items to use!

This 12 x 12 layout features six perspextives from the April 2022 Fox Box - the black “Love This Life” and gray frame and photo corners. The April Fox Box was one of my favorites so far this year! The collection used is Pink Paislee’s 5th and Monaco, along with Altenew stamps and Shimmerz paints.

I wanted to use four different bright and vibrant patterned papers to contrast the black leather jackets my husband and I are wearing. I started with a 6 x 12-inch strip of dotted paper along the bottom, an 5 x 10-inch yellow paper in the middle, and a 2 x 10-inch multi-colored strip under my photos. I used metal dies to cut three circles in pink patterned paper, which I placed on the top right, midle left, and middle center. The middle circle is the perfect spot to adhere the title perspextive so it pops off the page.

I stamped the flowers and leaves with black ink on white cardstock and then painted them with various Shimmerz colors. Once dry, I fussy-cut the flowers and leaves to create the floral clusters, which I topped off with flair buttons (Yes Please Papercrafts). I wanted a third cluster on the bottom left corner, so I backed the medium frame perspextive with patterned paper, added a floral/leave cluster, flair button, and butterfly.

Next was Distress Oxide blending through the Fox Cut #11 stencil to add in gray at the top of my background. I finished by placing crystal gems around the circle at the top right of my layout and randomly placed Nuvo crystal drops within the floral clusters.

I am going to frame and gift this layout to my husband for his man cave; however, between you and me, I am secretly plotting to get pink into that room!
