Messing about on the water!

Hi there foxy friends!

Earlier this month we spent a fun afternoon with friends meandering along the Grand Union Canal aboard The Black Swan! On this layout using a photo taken on the day I wanted to reflect the peace and tranquility of the canals.

I chose the 'friend' and 'love' perspextives, that were a free gift to subscribers. If you subscribe to the Fox Box you get a free gift every three months, along with an exclusive design for subscribers every month and a discount on any other purchases!! What could be better?! Take a look at the website for details of how to sign up.

I tend to use white cardstock but I wanted something softer for this layout so went with cream. I've used papers from the At Home collection by Carta Bella and Echo Park Warm & Cozy collection.

I love a wreath design so started by drawing an incomplete circle lightly in pencil then I used watercolours to roughly paint around the circle. My sewing machine is always out at the ready so I machine stitched over the paint a few times using straight and zig zag stitches.

I did lots of fussy cutting and to give the flowers more dimension added French knots in cream and yellow and on some, a light watercolour wash and a few speckles!

I also fussy cut out some creatures and die cut lots of branches and leafy stems to build my garland. The fox just had to make an appearance!

I love adding threads and fibres to my layouts and used the same twine I threaded through the tags to wrap around the perspextives. A spot of white glue secured them in place.

I'm pleased with how this layout turned out and hope I've inspired you to look through any word perspextives you might be hoarding and see if you can incorporate them into your journalling.

I'll be back next month with another layout. Until then, happy scrapping!

Philippa x
