You make me happy Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan

Some memories are just too special not to scrapbook, and this layout captures a lovely weekend away in Spain with my favourite person! ❤️

For this layout, I’ve used the December Fox Box You Make Me Happy and Lovely Weekend Perspextives as the starting point, combining them with the beautiful Bella Boulevard One Fall Day collection to create a design full of colour, love and little details.

I began by arranging a strip of four photos slightly on the diagonal across my layout. I love how this adds movement and guides the eye across the page, while allowing each photo to tell a little part of our Spanish weekend story. I added the perspextive title Lovely Weekend above the photos and You make me Happy underneath at the opposite end to balance the layout

To bring in some extra colour and detail, I fussy cut a selection of pretty flowers from the Paper Snips #097, along with some from the paper collection. I created three floral clusters around the layout, mixing the flowers with little word phrases to add interest and help draw the different elements together. Fussy cutting is such a lovely way to make patterned papers go even further, and these flowers were perfect for adding dimension and detail.

I also added a double border along two sides of the layout. This simple touch frames the design beautifully without overwhelming the photos and gives the page a little extra interest.

To finish everything off, I added some mini, colour-coordinating Perspextives in the shapes of hearts and butterflies, along with the word Love. These little embellishments were the perfect finishing touches, tying in with the theme of the page and adding those extra pops of detail.

FInally I added a few gold paint splatters.

I love how all the elements work together to celebrate a simple but special weekend away. The combination of pretty florals, sweet embellishments and favourite photographs makes this a layout full of happy memories.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation. I hope it inspires you to mix your favourite collections with coordinating embellishments on your next scrapbook page!

Happy scrapping! 💕
