Autumn Adventure: Capturing the Beauty of Arduaine Gardens created by Paula Davis
Autumn Adventure đ
There is something truly magical about an autumn walk, especially when the landscape is bursting with colour, texture and beautiful little details to discover. Paula @PD1505 has created this scrapbook layout which captures a wonderful autumn day spent exploring Arduaine Gardens in Argyll & Bute, Scotland, surrounded by woodland paths, incredible trees and the stunning scenery overlooking the sea.
I wanted this page to reflect that feeling of slowing down, exploring and simply enjoying the beauty of the season, so an autumn scrapbook layout felt like the perfect way to preserve these memories.
The title âAutumn Adventureâ from Bramble Fox was the perfect choice for this page. It sums up the day beautifully while also giving the layout a strong focal point.

Creating an Autumn-Inspired Background
For the background, I wanted something soft and subtle that would allow the photographs and autumn embellishments to stand out. I used a leaf-inspired stencil design with gentle shades of green and brown to create a delicate botanical pattern across the page.
The stencilling adds interest without overpowering the photographs and gives the white background a lovely mixed media scrapbook feel.
I also added small splatters and dots for a little extra texture and movement. These tiny details are perfect for creating that slightly organic, woodland feel that works so well with autumn photographs.
Layering Woodland Photographs
The photographs are the real stars of this layout. I chose a selection of images showing the beautiful woodland details we discovered during our walk, including tree stumps, fungi, moss-covered trunks and the surrounding scenery.
I particularly love using several photographs on a scrapbook page because they allow you to tell more of the story. Rather than focusing on just one photograph, these images capture all the little details that made the day special.
Each photograph has been layered and matted with warm brown tones, helping them stand out against the lighter background while tying them into the autumn colour palette.
Adding Bramble Fox Autumn Embellishments
The Bramble Fox embellishments were the perfect finishing touches for this autumn scrapbook page.
The layered leaves around the top and bottom of the layout bring lots of colour and dimension, with gorgeous shades of rust, burnt orange, mustard, green and brown. They echo the colours found naturally in the woodland photographs and help bring the whole page together.
I love creating embellishment clusters like these because they add plenty of dimension and texture to a scrapbook layout. Layering different leaf shapes also gives the impression of a little pile of autumn foliage gathered from the woodland floor.
Bramble Fox's scrapbook embellishments are particularly lovely for this style of page, with Perspectives, stencils and paper-snips making it easy to add those special finishing details.

Celebrating the Little Details
One of my favourite things about autumn is that you don't have to look far to find something beautiful.
A moss-covered log, a fascinating piece of fungi, the texture of an old tree stump or the changing colours of the leaves can all become part of the story.
That's what I wanted this layout to capture â not just the walk itself, but the little things we noticed along the way.
The handwritten journaling completes the page and records the memory behind the photographs, making this more than just a collection of pictures. It becomes a little snapshot of an autumn day that can be enjoyed again and again.
My Autumn Scrapbooking Inspiration đ
When creating an autumn scrapbook layout, I love using nature as my inspiration.
Think about:
đ Rich autumn colours such as rust, orange, mustard and olive green
đż Leaf and botanical embellishments
đł Woodland photographs and nature details
âď¸ Layering and fussy cutting for extra dimension
đ¨ Stencils and mixed media backgrounds
𧥠Warm earthy tones to complement your photographs
đ Handwritten journaling to record the story behind your photos
Don't be afraid to mix textures and embellishments. Autumn is the perfect season for layering, texture and dimension!
Creating Memories One Page at a Time
This Autumn Adventure scrapbook layout is a lovely reminder of a beautiful day exploring Arduaine Gardens. From the woodland paths to the moss-covered trees and the spectacular views across the water, it was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy everything that autumn has to offer.
Scrapbooking isn't just about preserving photographs â it's about preserving the feelings, stories and little details that might otherwise be forgotten.
And that's exactly what this page is all about.
A beautiful autumn day, a little adventure and memories to treasure. đ
Happy scrapping!Paula x
