The Best Night, Scrapbook Layout | Julie Taylor

There’s nothing better than getting together with friends to celebrate a special occasion, and this page captures a really fun evening celebrating Wendy’s 60th birthday back in September!

Wendy hosted a fabulous party at home, and a few of her scrappy friends made the journey to join in the celebrations. There was plenty of laughter, fun and lovely memories made, so The Best Night Perspextive title, from the December Fox Box, was absolutely perfect for documenting the occasion.

As the title was a lovely pale grey, I decided to add to the background, starting with some pale grey ink and the Fox Cut #93 Film Strips stencil over on the right-hand side of my white cardstock. I then layered over this using the #19 Thin Sunburst stencil with some pink ink, adding another layer of interest and texture. To bring in a little extra detail, I hand stitched the sunburst design, with metallic silver thread, which added some lovely texture and dimension.

I also introduced a pop of green by adding a few stars through the #150 Celebrate stencil, which comes in the November Fox Box Plus. This little touch of colour really helped bring the background to life.

Over on the left, I added some patterned paper to balance out the stencilled area and provide a lovely base for my photographs. I chose one main photo and four smaller snapshots, arranged together in a film strip to capture all those happy moments from the evening. I finished everything off with some carefully placed embellishments and a few Perspextive stars to add to the celebratory feel

A fun night, wonderful friends and lots of happy memories – definitely The Best Night.
