Adventure Starts Here Perspextive

There’s something so special about documenting adventures with good friends, and my recent trip to Belfast was definitely one to remember! Along with a few scrappy friends, I explored the city before we headed out to the absolutely breathtaking Giant's Causeway. Honestly, photos just don’t do this place justice. Standing amongst those incredible hexagon-shaped rocks was completely surreal. I still can’t quite understand how nature created them so perfectly — it felt like stepping into another world!

For this layout, I really wanted to reflect the unique shapes and natural patterns of the Causeway itself, so I began by cutting my three photos using hexagon dies. I also cut several different sizes of patterned papers, layering and arranging them across the centre of the page and letting the design spread outward. I love how this creates movement while also echoing the famous rock formations.

While we were in Belfast, we spent time browsing a few souvenir shops and I picked up a lovely pin to remember the trip. Rather than just adding the pin to the layout, I decided to make use of the packaging tag too! The pin itself sits at the bottom of the page, while the tag became a secondary title element at the top, adding a really personal touch and helping to tell more of the story behind the memories.

To finish everything off, I added little clusters of ephemera around the page for extra texture and detail. I also included some hand stitching in hexagon shapes to tie the whole design together and reinforce the theme. A few final white splatters completed the layout perfectly, giving it that slightly messy, adventurous feel that matches the trip so well.
