Fun in the Sun Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan

There’s nothing quite like capturing a tropical memory in a scrapbook layout, and this page takes me straight back to relaxing on the beach in beautiful Aruba with a refreshing cocktail in hand. For this layout, I wanted to create a bright, sunny design that reflected the warmth and happiness of the moment. The August Fox Box "Fun in the Sun" was the perfect title perspextive.

I used a single photo which I mounted to help it stand out, then positioned the August Fox Box Fun in the Sun perspextive on the right-hand side to balance the design.

To add a fresh summer feel, I used July Stencil 142 – Cascading Lemons, blending Distress Oxides from the top left corner to create a soft burst of colour that flows beautifully across the background.

I also incorporated the Loved This perspextive from the June Fox Box, which tied the page together perfectly and highlighted the special memory.

For embellishments, I fussy cut elements from Paper Snips 096, scattering them around the photo to add layers and movement. I tucked in the tiny lemons from the July Fox Box to continue the citrus theme, then finished the clusters with a delicate butterfly and several heart perspectives for a touch of whimsy.

Along the bottom of the layout, I used the large acrylic scallop edger from Bramble Fox to create a decorative border. I added a small flower perspextive and a few more Paper Snips to complete the design while keeping everything balanced and cohesive.

The gorgeous Simple Stories Sunny Days papers complemented the layout perfectly, bringing together the vibrant yellows, blues, and fresh summer vibes. This was such a fun page to create, and it beautifully captures a relaxing beach day in Aruba that I'll always treasure.
