I Am Retired! Here and Now Scrapbooking Layout - Wendy Meffan

Here and Now is a fabulous title in the June Fox Box and I used it straight away to document my Retirement. I had such an amazing retirement day which was totally unexpected as I worked for myself for 30 years so thought the day would just pass. I just was amazed at patient's kindness and then a lovely evening with my family to celebrate!

I used the Simple Stories I Am Collection which also seemed totally apt for my layout.

Initially I gutted a 12x12 floral paper to create a border and then trimmed the 12x12 striped paper and put them together. I then machine stitched around the edge of them.

I matted three photos together and built up the layout around them. I placed the Here and Now perspextive from the June Fox Box below the photos as a main title on the page. It worked well with the black striped background paper. I added a few fussy cut florals from the collection and the Happy Days frame and insert also from the June Fox Box. This also coordinated beautifully with the cup cakes I'd made which were the same colour!

I then decided to create a couple of clusters one at each end of the photo mat. To the right hand end I fussy cut a cloud and tab from the June Paper Snips #075. I also fussy cut the camera from the Paper Snips and tucked it into the cluster I'd made with some fussy cut flowers from the collection. I added a pink butterfly perspextive (again from the June Fox Box) to embellish further.

At the other end of the photo mat again I added fussy cut flowers and a blur butterfly from the Fox Box. This balanced with the blue from the Happy Days perspextive.

I had also fussy cut some clouds and a Butterfly again from the paper Snips and created another small cluster above the photos.

I added the bold chip board I Am from the paper collection and some mini alphas to create a second title of I Am Retired!

Finally at the bottom of the layout I added another cluster of fussy cut and Chipboard flowers from the paper collection and a final fussy cut Butterfly from Paper Snips #075
