A recent trip to Madrid turned into more than just a collection of memories – it became the inspiration for one of my favourite travel layouts yet. I used the large SNAPSHOTS perspextive as a grand title for the layout.

When I sat down to document the adventure, I knew I wanted the energy and charm of the city to shine through, so I reached for the Simple Stories Here and There travel collection. The colours, icons, and playful designs were the perfect match for the photos and the spirit of the trip.
To start, I built the page around the large Snapshots perspextive. I backed it with patterned paper to give it more prominence and to draw the eye right into the heart of the story. I used a 12x12 street map paper from an older Hip Kit Collection for my background, and then added some torn papers from the Simple Stories Here and There Collection for some more dimension to the layout.

From there, I added multiple photos, (printed 8-up on the Selphy), which gave me a great mix of little moments and details without overwhelming the page. Madrid is such a vibrant city—between the architecture, tapas, plazas, and street life—it felt right to include as many glimpses as possible.
I layered in other coordinating perspextives to support the theme: Discover to capture the sense of exploration, a large geo tag to ground the location, along with a globe and a plane to nod to the journey itself. These pieces helped balance the layout while reinforcing the idea of travel and adventure.

What I love most about this paper collection is how versatile it is. The subtle neutrals worked beautifully with the warm tones of Madrid’s streets, while the bright fun travel perspextives added just enough playfulness. The finished page feels like a window back into the trip—structured yet full of movement, just like the city itself.

Documenting this Madrid adventure reminded me why I love scrapbooking: it turns moments into art, letting me relive the journey every time I flip through my album.
Until next time .. Happy Scrapbooking!
