The “Trip of a Lifetime” and “Our Story” titles from the May Shop collection were the perfect finishing touches for this multiple-photo layout documenting our unforgettable trip to Mt Fuji. We were incredibly fortunate to see the mountain in all her glory, standing proudly beneath a brilliant blue sky. It was such an awe-inspiring moment and one I knew I wanted to highlight with a bold and layered design.

To create the background, I chose beautiful Japanese patterned papers that reflected the culture and colours of the trip. I tore a large triangle from one side of the page to add texture and movement, then arranged my photos in a cascading design flowing across the layout. Mounting the photos helped them stand out against the busy patterns, while roughing up the edges added extra dimension and a slightly distressed look.
I created three embellishment clusters around the page using Japanese-inspired stamps and inks from 49 and Market. These clusters helped draw the eye across the layout while adding detail and balance without overwhelming the photos.

I love how the stamping ties into the theme and gives the page an artistic mixed-media feel.

The “Trip of a Lifetime” title was placed over the photo ledge to anchor the design, while “Our Story” was added near the bottom of the layout to help tell the narrative of the adventure.

To finish everything off, I added a coordinating large orange geo tag which brought in a lovely pop of colour and complemented the warm tones in the papers. Finally, I tucked two additional paper triangles into the opposite corners of the layout to bring the whole design together and create a cohesive finished page. i added a JApanese sticker in the centre of the geo tag.

i loved the colour of these perspextives and will coordinate with most holiday photos. Do take a look over at www.bramblefox.co.uk to see all the latest goodies.
Until next time ... Happy Scrapping!
