Last October I had my annual escape to a cosy barn retreat with my girlfriends for a whole week of scrapbooking. There’s nothing quite like combining laughter, endless cups of tea, and uninterrupted creative time in such a beautiful setting. It was the perfect opportunity to dive into autumn projects, and I loved working with the October Fox Box, especially the Autumn Stories and Gather perspextives, which suited the season and the memories I am documenting so well.

For my layout I gutted a 12x12 patterned paper and used it as a border having trimmed down a piece of white card , I then began with the Bramble Fox shape templates. These gave me a really fun foundation to build on, I fussy cut 6 shapes and I decided to distress all the edges before running them through my sewing machine. The stitched borders not only added texture but also gave the shapes a hand-finished, cosy feel that matched the autumn theme beautifully.
I placed the Autumn Stories perspextive centrally on the top of page to draw the eye directly to the heart of the layout.
To add even more depth, I reached for stencil #78 and lightly inked through some of the tiny Autumn icons with distress oxides to make my own mini autumn ephemera pieces. After inking, I outlined and fussy cut them, turning them into extra embellishments and added them each side of the main title.

I worked with three photos spaced diagonally on the templates, layering them to create a storytelling effect. Around the photos, I added smaller details and clusters using Paper Snips #81, and finished with a scattering of tiny autumn perspextives from Bramble Fox. The Gather perspextive worked perfectly as a second title at the base of the layout, I added twine around the bases of each of the cluster.

The end result feels warm, layered, and so in tune with both the autumn stories I was documenting and the memories we created together during this retreat. Crafting in such an inspiring environment with my friends reminded me once again why I love this hobby: it’s about creating, sharing, and capturing life’s most cherished moments.
Until next time... Happy Scrapping!
