Fun Halloween Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

Scrapbooking Halloween and autumn activities are so much fun, and the October Fox Box is full of beautiful fall-themed embellishments. I used the "Life's a Hoot" acrylic title Perspextive, the Owl Woodies, and the Paper Snips from the October Fox Box Plus, as well as a few other goodies from the shop. Since I scrap 8 x 8, the products look a bit larger on my layouts.

I created my background using the Lattice Pattern Fox Cut Stencil #75 and three shades of Tim Holtz Distress Ink--two oranges (Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade) and a blue (Speckled Eggs) that would match the trees I wanted to use from the Paper Snips in the Fox Box Plus. I made the decision to add the blue trees near the end of planning my layout when I felt I needed an additional color to contrast all the Halloween colors.

How beautiful is the finish on the "Life's a Hoot" title--it has a sort of sparkly look when the light hits it just right.

I used Echo Park's Spooky collection, which has predominately the classic Halloween colors, plus a bit of green, which posed a bit of a challenge for me to use the burgundy "Life's a Hoot," but I found a perfect solution. I pieced together torn strips of various patterns for the Spooky collection and then added barbed wire borders in a burgundy cardstock that matched the title. The Barbed Wire Fox Dies #4 is a great set that includes not only the barbed wire, but also leaves and a chain-link fence, all of which are very versatile. If you don't have the Torn Edger Border Template, you need one to get those perfect tears! I stitched along the paper strips for more texture.

The "Enjoy this Moment" tab was cut from the Paper Snips in the Fox Box. Building extra layers like a stamped frame, ribbon tab, phrase strips, and corners adds more interest and invites the viewer to keep looking throughout the page for more surprises.

I used some stickers from the Spooky collection and then cut out some little trick-or-treaters from one of the patterned papers to make a little neighborhood scene in the bottom left, using one of the blue trees from the Paper Snips. I always add hearts to the pages I gave away and I found some shimmery platinum hearts from the Hearts Special Edition pack that worked well with my Halloween palette and added them to the roofs of some of the houses.

I've mentioned before that I always leave my layouts overnight calling them done, and this time I added the stamping to the background and some silver Pinkfresh metallic pearls for an additional texture. Both of those details really added a perfect finishing touch to my layout.

I made a second little scene b one of my photos, adding another heart Perspextive, a blue tree, and a second owl Woodie. How adorable are these owls? The etched detail on their eyes and feathers are just perfect!

I hope I've inspired you to dig out some Halloween or fall photos and get scrapping! Besides the October Fox Box, there are loads of other autumn-inspired products in the shop, with more coming soon!
