Moments That Matter | A Layered 8x8 Scrapbook Layout

With bold Bramble Fox Perspextives, subtle stencilling and carefully layered clusters, this 8x8 scrapbook layout celebrates the moments that matter most. Designed around the bold Moments That Matter title from the Together is Everything pack and paired with elements from the March Fox Box Plus, this page combines dimensional titles, subtle stencilling and clustered florals to create a warm, heartfelt design full of texture and flow.

I always scrap in 8x8, which means my Perspextives and embellishments naturally appear a little larger and more impactful — something I absolutely love when working with statement titles like this one. The slightly oversized feel gives the layout presence while still leaving plenty of breathing room for soft layers and delicate details. To complement the Bramble Fox pieces, I incorporated patterned papers from the Written in the Stars collection by Uniquely Creative, pulling together those beautiful mustard, navy and soft blue tones.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: When your title carries emotional weight, let it lead the design. Build your colour palette and embellishment clusters outward from it so everything feels intentional and cohesive.

Bold Navy & Golden Glow: Building Depth with Contrast

One of my favourite features of this layout is the bold navy Moments That Matter title. I love that this pack also includes another title — Together is Everything — which makes it so versatile for different projects. The deep navy contrasts beautifully with the mustard, orange and soft blue tones in the patterned papers and embellishments.

Before adding anything, I created a subtle golden background using the stencil from the March Fox Box Plus. It adds warmth and soft movement without overwhelming the white space — just enough detail to frame the clusters.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: If you’re using a bold Perspextive title, balance it with soft stencilling underneath to ground it without competing for attention.

The Power of Three: Creating a Visual Triangle with Florals

The lovely navy posies from the March Fox Box tie perfectly into the title and allowed me to create a strong visual triangle across the layout. Repeating that navy tone in three areas helps move the eye naturally around the page. At the top of the layout, I tore the patterned papers rather than cutting them straight. That soft, imperfect edge adds subtle movement and texture while breaking up the structured lines created by the photo and title. It keeps the design from feeling too rigid and introduces a gentle, organic feel that complements the florals.

The sweet little houses are from the Paper Snips in the Fox Box Plus and add a cozy, storytelling element. I also included word strips from the Vintage Sentiments 055 Paper Snips — honestly a must-have sheet bursting with over 100 versatile phrases for every type of project.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: When you introduce a bold colour (like navy), repeat it in at least two other spots for cohesion and flow. 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Try tearing patterned paper instead of trimming it cleanly. The softened edge adds texture, reduces harsh lines and helps balance bold elements like large titles or geometric layers.

Cut, Layer, Tuck: Mixing Paper Snips with Fussy-Cut Florals

That adorable little windmill from the Paper Snips instantly became part of my main cluster. It adds charm and a subtle whimsical feel that complements the houses beautifully. To give it a little extra personality and dimension, I added a decorative brad to the center — a small detail that makes a big difference. It draws the eye and gives the embellishment a more finished, custom feel.

The florals in my embellishment clusters were fussy-cut from patterned papers in the Uniquely Creative collection. Fussy-cutting allows you to control placement, layering and depth — and it’s a brilliant way to stretch your patterned paper stash as well as an economical way to create embellishments.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Mix pre-cut embellishments with fussy-cut elements for a more custom, layered look. 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Look for opportunities to add dimensional details — like brads, enamel dots, buttons, or rhinestones — to flat embellishments. Small layered accents instantly customize your pieces and add texture, movement and character to your page.

Layers That Lift: Framing the Photo with Texture

I layered my photo with a mix of solids and patterned papers to coordinate with the florals and background tones. Layering helps your photo stand out while still feeling integrated into the overall design.

The sweet tab at the top of the photo came from the Paper Snips, and I added staples using my Tiny Attacher for extra texture. Those small metallic touches might seem subtle, but they make a big difference in adding realism and dimension.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Don’t forget texture! Staples, foam adhesive, wooden dots and Perspextives all add beautiful physical depth to your page.

The Finishing Touch: Hearts, Dimension & Fresh Eyes

I almost always add hearts to layouts I gift — it feels like a little signature touch of love. Here I included a matching navy heart Perspextive from the Cool Hearts pack to tie everything together.

One of my favourite creative habits is leaving a layout overnight and coming back the next day with fresh eyes. That’s when I decided to add the wooden dots for dimension and those tiny smiley faces for a bit of whimsy and personality.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Step away before calling a layout finished. Fresh eyes often reveal the perfect final detail.

This scrapbook layout is a reminder that it’s often the quiet, everyday moments that become the most meaningful over time. Through layered Perspextives, Paper Snips, torn textures, and dimensional details, a simple photo transforms into something lasting — something worth revisiting again and again.
