Using Old Paper Scraps for a Fresh New Look

If you're like me, you have a massive stash of paper scraps from layouts past. Pairing those old scraps with Bramble Fox products can breathe new life into that old paper! I used the beautiful Treasured Memories title Perspextive, the stencil and Paper Snips from the May Fox Box Plus, and a few other Bramble Fox goodies to create this lovely layout of my friend and her granddaughter. Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my layouts

Bramble Fox makes the most beautiful titles, and Treasured Memories is no exception. The pretty blue and gorgeous fonts make this title a stand-out. The journaling strips were made with Vintage Sentiments Snips 055. This must-have Paper Snip has over 100 wonderful generic phrases for any layout. I recently ordered a second sheet so I won't run out!

After choosing all my elements and figuring out my basic design, I brushed Abandoned Coral Distress Oxides through the gorgeous dandelion stencil #117 from the May Fox Box Plus behind where the clusters would be placed. The Paper Snips from the May Fox Box Plus are beautiful and very colorful! I chose my patterned papers from my paper scraps, which I organize by color, to coordinate with the colors in the Snips. I cut them in strips and stitched them down along the top half of the layout and in the bottom left corner. I added some black Film Strip Borders from Fox Dies #20, another must-have product that can be used on any layout, but especially perfect for the camera, filmstrip, and photograph motifs in the Paper Snips. I searched for other Perspextives in my stash that would coordinate with my title and found these awesome chevron arrows. These particular ones are no longer in the shop, but you can still order the Vintage Chevrons and Corners, which will be perfect with other Perspextives you might have. They're perfect for calling attention to your photos.

I created a similar arrangement in the lower left corner of my layout. That sweet camera is from the Paper Snips 074 in the May Fox Box Plus. The "amazing" word strip is from the Lively Paper Snips 026. The colors in those Snips are just perfect with the Snips I was using. It's wonderful how Bramble Fox products coordinate with each other! I always add hearts to the layouts I'll give away, and the coral hearts in the Happy Hearts pack are a perfect match with the coral in the Paper Snips. Hearts and other Petite Perspextives are great for tucking into clusters and for adding dimension to flat elements.

I added these hearts to the other clusters. The Oh! Happy Day is from the Paper Snips 074. I added some layers behind the photo for more dimension and interest--an old Echo Park Journaling spot, whose colors coordinate nicely with the Paper Snips, and a frame cut from an older Bramble Fox die.
