Scrapbooking Christmas Joy | Debbi Tehrani
'Tis the season to start scrapbooking Christmas layouts, and the Bramble Fox shop has loads of beautiful Christmas-themed products, including the December Fox Box, which I used to create this festive Christmas layout. (I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my pages.)
How beautiful and intricate is this title Perspextive from the Fox Box? I wanted it to take center stage and thought of designing my layout as a wreath. I started off my layout by creating a background with the lovely Candy Cane + Trees Fox Cut Stencil #82, which features these sweet pine trees. Don't you just adore how Bramble Fox makes many of their stencils with two designs? It's like getting two stencils for the price of one!
After applying the background stencil and watercolor paint splatters, I assembled a wreath using stamps cut out of a patterned paper from Crate Paper's Mittens and Mistletoe collection. I arranged them in a circular design and then machine-stitched them down. I crinkled the edges to add a little dimension. I interspersed some Hobby Lobby holly leaves from my stash and Christmas trees and candy cane Perspextives from the Mini Xmas Things pack that matched my dark green title. And since I always add hearts to the pages I give away, I found some gorgeous translucent red hearts from the Warm Hearts pack to place beside each of the Mini Xmas Things.
My wreath still needed some more decoration, so I punched some snowflakes and added some phrase strips from Paper Snips 015 | Festive Fun. I adhered some poinsettia stickers from the Mittens & Mistletoe collection and scattered some green Nuvo drops around the wreath. I noticed the stamps were sort of fading into the background with all the bold greens and reds, so I outlined the stamps with a fine-tip pen to make them stand out a bit more.
Finally, I added a tab and another phrase strip from the Paper Snips 015 | Festive Fun to the photo.
