Let's Get Stripey

Using stripes in my background is a go to technique for me, it adds impact without being complicated. For this layout I used strips of patterned paper cut to 1.5 inch thick & placed them at a 45 degree angle.

If you choose to do the same you will find that some of the strips will not be long enough to cover the page, fear not, just cut them in half & hide the gap behind your photo, no one will ever know.

I always like to add little extra details to my page & hand-stitching is a great way to do this. In colour co-ordinating embroidery thread I back-stitched along the edges of the strips.

It was then time to embellish my 4x6 inch photo with ephemera & to add my title. I absolutely love generic titles like the 'Let's Do This', it can be used to document so many stories, big or small!

To finish, I added sparkle with a sprinkle of sequins & gems. Need a fun background without getting yourself into a pickle, why not try stripes!

Until next time, much love,

Em xxx
