Moments That Matter: Celebrating Autumn’s Simple Joys on a Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

As soon as I opened the November Fox Box Plus, I knew I’d be creating something warm, cozy, and full of autumn charm. This month’s box is absolutely bursting with gorgeous seasonal elements — from the beautiful title piece and etched Perspextives to the stencil and Paper Snips.

I usually start my layouts with a solid white background, but this time I decided to mix things up and use an old BasicGrey paper that has the look of textured cardstock. I think lots of texture is a must for fall pages, and this background added the perfect cozy feel for my autumn story. I create 8x8 layouts, so products tend to look a bit larger on my pages — which is something I actually love, because it lets the Perspextives and details shine!I paired it with the Four Seasons: Autumn collection from P13 Paper Products, which complements the Bramble Fox goodies beautifully.

Navy Makes It Pop

One of my favorite design choices on this page was using rich navy blue as a striking contrast to the warm oranges and golds of autumn. The bold “Moments That Matter” title from the Fox Box anchors the layout beautifully. I also tucked the sweet little owl Perspextive into the design — he looks right at home perched on the title, among the pumpkins and leaves.

Building the Background

I began by stenciling the background with the distressed harlequin pattern from the Fox Box stencil, which also features a brick design. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink with the stencil — its yellow-green hue has a warm, golden cast that ties in beautifully with the pumpkin leaves and my grand-niece’s dress. That little pop of color helped unify the whole layout and gave the background a lively, autumn glow.

Next, I added embellishments like the etched leaf Perspextive and word strips from the Paper Snips. I used a tiny Tim Holtz clip to attach one of the word strips to the photo, adding a touch of dimension and a hint of vintage character. I love how the mix of materials — etched acrylics, cardstock, and metal — brings so much texture and personality to the page.

Torn Edges & Hearts

To create more texture, I tore paper edges and used a border punch for extra layering. These simple touches tie the rich navy and autumn palette together. I always love adding a heart to pages I give away — it’s my little signature! I even found the perfect one to match this title in the Cool Hearts pack.

Fall Details That Delight

The seasonal accents in the November Fox Box brought a quiet kind of magic to the page. The etched owl adds contrast, texture, and autumn personality; the leaf Perspextive adds a sculptural touch—its contours and depth echoing the movement of real autumn foliage; and the sweet acorns from the Paper Snips helped guide the eye and soften the layout. I especially loved how well they coordinated with the fussy-cut pumpkins—each piece echoing the palette and mood.

Finishing Touches

I couldn’t resist using one of the Paper Snips banners from the Fox Box Plus — there are five on the sheet! I added yellow pearls for dimension and a touch of shine. I always let my layouts rest overnight before calling them done; this time, I added cork dots to complete the page.
