Natural Beauty: A Scrapbook Page Full of Love & Layers

Creating a scrapbook layout that highlights the beauty of the people we love is always so meaningful, and this scrapbook layout does just that using gorgeous Bramble Fox Perspextives, stencils, fussy cutting, stamping, and lots of layers. For this layout, I used the Natural Beauty title from the brand new Take Note pack along with a few other Bramble Fox goodies to create this layout for my friend and her daughter. I paired it with Carta Bella's Coffee Shop collection, and the colors complemented the beautiful soft teal/seafoam tone of the title perfectly. That gentle pop of color against the softer pinks and neutrals really helps the title stand out as a focal point. Because I scrapbook in an 8x8 format, my products often appear a bit larger and more impactful—something I absolutely love when working with statement titles and embellishments!

Letting the Title Shine

I absolutely love this title—the mix of fonts and the elegant flow makes it perfect for nature-themed layouts, but also incredibly versatile for showcasing the beautiful people in your life. When I design my pages, I like to lay everything out before adhering anything down. Once I had my composition set, I added subtle texture using the Distressed Grid Fox Cut Stencil #113 with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink, creating soft interest in the background without taking away from the main elements.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Add subtle stenciling after planning your layout—this ensures your background enhances your design rather than competing with it.

Building a Meaningful Cluster

To draw attention to the photo, I created a cluster right next to it. I started by stamping frames on white paper, fussy cutting them, and layering them behind the photo, which I mounted first on black cardstock and then two different patterned papers. Then I added a floral cluster using fussy-cut flowers from one of the Carta Bella papers. I also included one of the sweet cameras from the April Fox Box, which inspired me to bring in touches of black throughout the layout for contrast and a little drama. The View-Master reel from an older Bramble Fox die set added another layer of interest and helped form a visual triangle with the teal title and the teal heart Perspextive in the top cluster, guiding the eye naturally around the page. To keep it from feeling too heavy, I used a fine-tip pen to outline the View-Master reel, which softened its look while still keeping that bold detail.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Repeating a darker color (like black) in small doses across your layout helps ground your design and adds visual balance. 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: If an embellishment feels too heavy or dark, try outlining it with a fine-tip pen—this can lighten the visual weight while still keeping the detail.

Balancing the Design

To keep the layout balanced, I added another cluster on the opposite side of the title. I also printed out journaling to sit above the title. Later, I added the black phrase strips under the title when I realized the space felt a bit too open between the title and the bottom border. This is one of my favorite tricks—stepping away and revisiting a layout with fresh eyes the next day can make all the difference.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: If something feels “off,” it often just needs a small grounding element—like a phrase strip or embellishment—to visually anchor the space.

Creating a Visual Triangle

I added a third cluster at the top of the page to form a visual triangle, which helps guide the viewer’s eye around the layout. Of course, I tucked in some matching heart Perspextives (from the Cool Hearts and Monochrome Hearts packs)—I can’t resist adding hearts to the pages I give away. The kids always like to look for the hearts! I always make sure to pick up a pack or two of hearts whenever they’re in the shop—they’re such a versatile staple! Not only do they add instant dimension and texture to clusters, but they’re also perfect for helping to form visual triangles, especially when you can match them with other elements on your page to create a cohesive flow. The teal word strips are from the Vintage Sentiments Snips 055, which is one of my all-time favorite sheets because it includes over 100 versatile phrases that work beautifully for almost any theme.

As I was finishing the layout, I realized that the area to the left of the photo still felt a bit empty. That’s when I added the gold bow charm to the black clip, along with the trailing white twine. The twine brings in soft movement across the page and adds just the right touch of texture without feeling heavy or like an afterthought. To finish it off, I added a few shiny gold pearls, which tie everything together and echo the warmth of the gold charm.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: When creating a visual triangle, vary the size and intensity of each cluster—one can be fuller, one softer, and one more minimal. This keeps the eye moving around the page naturally without feeling too “matchy-matchy.” 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Don’t be afraid to add those final “little extras” at the end—small details like twine, charms, or enamel dots can bring movement, texture, and cohesion to your layout without overwhelming your design. 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Keep a go-to embellishment (like hearts!) on hand—using the same element in different areas of your layout is an easy way to build dimension and guide the eye naturally around the page.

This layout was such a joy to create, not only because of the soft colors and beautiful products, but because it celebrates the kind of natural beauty that shines from within—the love between a mother and daughter, captured in a single moment and preserved on a page. These are the stories I treasure most and love giving back as meaningful keepsakes.
