This Wizard of Oz–inspired scrapbook layout documents a favorite group photo from Las Vegas, taken after seeing The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere, and brings together bold color, layered textures, and playful details using Bramble Fox Perspextives, stencils, and sparkly accents. I scrap in an 8×8 format, which means all those dimensional elements and titles appear a little larger on the page—perfect for letting statement pieces really shine.
From the rainbow details to the yellow brick road and Emerald City sparkle, this layout was all about leaning into the theme while keeping the design balanced and fun.
An Oz-Worthy Title & Unexpected Color Choices
I started this layout with the fabulous large title from the Bramble Fox Christmas Eve Box, then selected papers and design elements that felt right for a Wizard of Oz theme. The poppy imagery from the Vicki Boutin Print Shop collection came to mind—even though the color wasn’t what you’d typically expect for poppies. I hesitated at first, but once I saw how strongly it contrasted with my photo, I realized it made the image stand out beautifully.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: If a patterned paper isn’t the “expected” color—like poppies that aren’t traditional red—don’t rule it out too quickly. Unexpected contrast can add energy and help your photo pop.

Backed Outlined Titles & Rainbow Layers
One of my favorite parts of this page is the outlined title from the Christmas Eve Box, which I customized by backing it with patterned paper. That simple step made it easy to add a "somewhere over the rainbow" stripe, which felt perfect for a Wizard of Oz–inspired scrapbook layout. Backing outlined titles is such a fun way to bring in color and pattern to customize a title.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Outlined titles are incredibly versatile—try backing them with stripes, tone-on-tone patterns, or even scraps to add instant interest.

The Yellow Brick Road
A Wizard of Oz–themed layout wouldn’t be complete without a yellow brick road, so I stenciled one using Bramble Fox Brick Wall Stencil #49. This detail leads the eye toward the photo while reinforcing the theme in a subtle but recognizable way. The phrase strips I used on my page are from Travel Notes Snips 078 and Snips 031. 💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Word and phrase strips are a simple way to add visual interest while reinforcing the story you’re telling on your layout.

Borders, Patterns & Emerald City Sparkle, Oh My!
My page needed a border, so I layered some of the rainbow paper along with another patterned paper that echoed the black outline of the title. I chose a border punch that reminded me of a postage stamp or ticket edge, which felt like a fun nod to Las Vegas. To add a final touch of magic to my border, I placed a strip of green rhinestones, echoing the sparkle of the Emerald City.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Borders are a great place to repeat colors and textures you’ve already used—they help frame the page and pull everything together.

Rainbows, Hearts & a Little Creative Editing
Even with rainbow patterned paper already on the page, I couldn’t resist adding an actual rainbow. I found a rainbow diecut from Jen Hadfield’s Reaching Out collection, but one of the arcs included a color that didn’t quite belong. Rather than passing it by, I simply trimmed that section away and popped the rainbow right on top of my title—it ended up being the perfect little extra.
I also added black heart Perspextives from the Bramble Fox Monochrome Hearts pack. I always include hearts on the pages I give away, and these tied in beautifully with the black outline of the title while adding just enough dimension and whimsy.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Don’t be afraid to “edit” your embellishments. Trimming, reshaping, or reworking pieces helps them feel custom and perfectly suited to your page.

Stars, Color Balance & Knowing When to Stop
I found some yellow star Perspextives in my stash to tie in with the yellow brick road and bring that color into the rest of the layout for cohesion. After stepping away from the page overnight, I came back with fresh eyes and added brackets from the Thickers pack along with a few sparkly green rhinestones scattered around the page. That final look told me the layout was complete.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Stepping away from a layout can help you see whether it truly needs more—or if it’s already finished.

This Wizard of Oz–inspired scrapbook layout was a joyful way to capture a Las Vegas memory after seeing The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere. I love how Bramble Fox titles, Perspextives, and stencils can give a themed page a strong foundation while still letting your creativity soar down your own yellow brick road.
