Twinkle & Believe: A Joyful Christmas Scrapbook Layout

Christmas scrapbooking always fills me with a sense of warmth, sparkle, and nostalgia, and this festive layout was such a joy to create. There’s just something about Christmas products that makes my scrapbooker heart happy, and this joyful holiday page is no exception. For this layout, I pulled together several elements from Bramble Fox’s Christmas collection, including Festive Words, Festive Ornaments, and the festive Sparkles Fox Cut Stencil (#131) from the December Fox Box. To complement those pieces, I added papers from Simple Stories’ Holly Days collection, which pairs beautifully with the classic, cheerful feel of the Bramble Fox designs.

I scrapbook in 8×8, which means all of the gorgeous details and textures from Bramble Fox tend to look a bit larger and extra impactful on my pages—perfect for showcasing festive embellishments and layered details.

Wide Panels, Cozy Layers, and Subtle Sparkle

I began my design by creating three wide horizontal panels, stitching each one in place and layering festive polka dot scallops beneath them for extra texture. Before adhering anything permanently, I added a soft layer of sparkly joy to the background by brushing Fired Brick Distress Ink through the Festive Sparkles Stencil (#131). This step adds interest without overwhelming the design and peeks through the layers in just the right spots, and keeps the background from feeling flat.

The Festive Words pack was a star player on this layout. The pack includes five words, making it ideal for creating multiple projects or repeating a design element across a page. I especially love that the words come in two colorways—mint & white and vintage tones (you can see that colorway in play on this layout)—which makes them incredibly versatile.

The script lettering adds softness and movement, and the words themselves help tell the story without needing a lot of extra journaling.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Repeating smaller title elements is an easy way to create visual rhythm and guide the eye. On this page, that repetition also helped me settle on a three-panel design with three embellishment clusters.

Dressing Up the Etched Ornaments

The Festive Ornaments are absolutely gorgeous on their own, but I couldn’t resist embellishing them just a bit. I added a satiny polka dot bow, some silver cord, and a shiny metallic dot to the intricately etched bauble for extra sparkle and dimension. These small details really elevate the ornaments and help them stand out against the patterned paper. To reinforce the sense of repetition across the page, I also added white star Perspextives from the Monochrome Stars pack to each of the embellishment clusters—and I even found a glittery silver star in my stash that was the perfect finishing touch for the top of the Christmas tree die cut.

I love how the added texture makes each ornament feel almost like a real keepsake hanging on the page.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Treat etched embellishments like mini focal points—bows, thread, Perspextives, or enamel dots can make them feel extra special.

Framing the Photo with Festive Details

To ground my photo, I added a stamped frame behind it and topped it with a soft velvet bow clip. I always include hearts on the pages I give away—they’re my quiet way of adding a little extra love—and on this layout, a small translucent red heart Perspextive helps form a visual triangle with the red Festive Ornaments, leading your eye naturally around the page. These repeating pops of red help balance the layout and tie everything together.

This is one of my favorite ways to add cohesion while still keeping things playful and festive.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Create visual triangles using color or shape—your layout will instantly feel more balanced and intentional.

Nutcracker Details and a Favorite Finishing Trick

One of my favorite little details on this layout is the nutcracker ornament, from the Festive Ornaments. I tied it with silver cord to coordinate with the other ornament, and after leaving the layout overnight, I came back and added a few shiny silver dots as final touches. That last step is one of my favorite tricks—it lets me see the page with fresh eyes and decide exactly what it still needs.

Sometimes, just a tiny bit of sparkle is the perfect finishing touch.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Walk away from your layout before calling it done—those final embellishments often become your favorite details.
