Celebrating Friendship – A Special Scrapbook Layout for a 60th Birthday

I’m excited to share my latest scrapbook layout I created to document celebrating Kirei's 60th birthday. This layout was a joy to put together, not only because of the memories it holds, but also because I had the chance to use some of the stunning July Fox Box Perspextives by Bramble Fox, which added the perfect finishing touches.

The star of the page is the absolutely gorgeous turquoise “Highlights” perspextive, which I placed prominently above the photos to draw the eye and set the tone for the layout. It couldn’t have been more fitting for the celebration—it really does highlight the happiness of the day and the importance of marking such a milestone.

Alongside that, I used two coordinating arrows from the same Fox Box, which help guide the eye naturally across the page, following the photo trail. I love how dynamic they make the layout feel—adding a sense of movement and fun that reflects the joyful energy of the day.

To add a soft touch, I included some mini butterfly perspextives as well as a corner perspextive, which beautifully framed the layout and balance the visual elements. These small details really help bring everything together and add that extra bit of texture and dimension.

I used papers from the Sunny Days collection by Simple Stories, which is full of cheerful, warm tones that pair beautifully with the turquoise of the Perspextives. The background is built from a torn piece of 12x12 patterned paper layered at the top of the page, creating a lovely textured effect. I always love a good torn edge—it brings such a relaxed, organic feel to a layout.

The photos themselves are arranged in a grid style, flowing down from beneath the torn edge. I used several shots from the birthday celebration, each capturing laughter, smiles, and meaningful moments. Most of the photos are matted to help them stand out against the background, and I embellished around them using coordinating stickers, die cuts, and chipboard pieces from the Sunny Days collection.

What I love most about this layout is how it tells the story of the day in such a vibrant, happy way. From the movement created by the cascading photos and arrows, to the warmth of the paper collection and the joyful pop of the turquoise Highlights title, every element feels intentional and heartfelt.

Scrapbooking allows us to not only document our memories but to celebrate them. Creating this layout gave me the chance to honour a beautiful friendship and a wonderful person on her special day. I hope this page brings as much joy to others as it did to me while making it.
