A Milestone Boy Birthday Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

There’s nothing quite like celebrating a milestone birthday, and I had the best time creating this whimsical, high-flying layout for a special little guy turning five! Using a playful mix of Bramble Fox Perspextives, including the brand-new Birthday Flight pack, I brought the joy and excitement of the day to life with soaring airplanes, puffy clouds, and bold birthday vibes. Come fly along with me as I share my process behind this festive design! Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my layouts.

If you haven't checked out Bramble Fox's sketches in the Bramble Fox Facebook Friends group, you need to check them out! I used this sketch as inspiration for my layout.

I used patterned papers and a sticker from Echo Park’s Dream Big Little Boy collection to set the tone for this high-flying celebration. The charming airplane print and bright, boyish colors paired so well with the Bramble Fox barn red and smoky blue Perspextives. The patterns brought a playful energy to the page while letting the embellishments take center stage. The Birthday Flight includes two planes and two banners, providing enough Perspextives to create up to four layouts—but I chose to use them all together on this one. The twine connects the cheerful airplane to the fluttering banner, adding a charming, handcrafted touch that ties the whole scene together. It brings a sense of whimsy and movement, as if the little plane is proudly pulling its message through the sky.

Speaking of the sky, I created the soft, fluffy clouds using the Cloudy Fox Cut Stencil #48 to add depth and a playful backdrop that perfectly complements the airplane and banner, bringing the whole sky scene to life. I found the Hooray Perspextive in my stash and it was perfect for the colors I was using.

Here’s a close-up of the red plane, accented with a matching gold heart for a little extra sparkle. I used the Office Borders die as one of the borders at the top, adding stitching at the top for subtle texture and a cozy handmade feel.

Here's a look at the top left page. The fun etching on the banners adds just the right amount of texture and personality, like little doodles that make them pop! It gives the banners a lively, handmade vibe that’s full of charm and character, while delivering the message of the layout. The hearts on my layout are from the Vintage Hearts pack. The little hearts sprinkled throughout the layout are my signature touch—tiny bursts of love that make each page feel warm and personal. They’re a simple way to share a bit of joy and care with whoever receives the layout.

Finally, here's one last shot of the title. Combining different alphabets for the Perspextive titles is a fun way to mix things up and customize your titles. The matching arrow (from the Arrows Galore pack) next to the title draws the eye and adds a dynamic sense of direction to the layout. It emphasizes the journey and adventure theme, guiding the viewer’s attention right where the story begins. I highly recommend getting a pack of these arrows, which comes in a multitude of shapes and colors. The bold black word strips from the Vintage Sentiments Paper Snips 055 add a punchy little pop to the page. They’re perfect for adding quick sentiments or playful phrases, and the contrast really helps them stand out against the softer colors in the layout.

The Birthday Flight Perspextives were a blast to work with! I can easily see the airplanes adding a playful touch to travel layouts, while the banners are perfect for birthday celebrations. I can’t wait to see the amazing creations you’ll make with these beautiful new products!
