Christmas Scrapbooking Layout with paper piecing

I drew out the cottage first on some paper and then cut the body of the house, the roof and the chimney and used them as templates on my patterned paper. I used black embroidery thread to sew round the edges. I next moved onto the trees, again making a template first.

How many of you have started your Christmas shopping? I've been pretty organised this year and happy to say that I've got a few bits in already, but if you wanted to treat yourself to a subscription to the Fox Box which is highly recommended please use this link https://www.bramblefox.co.uk/foxbox

Items used:

Spread Joy Perspextive from December Fox Box

Star perspextives

Simple Stories The Holiday Life collection

Black embroidery thread

I trimmed my background paper down to 11 1/2 inches and distressed the edges and then cutting into the top right and top left of the paper to create gaps where I layered different pages from the collection distressing the edges as I added more layers. I also added a boarder to my layout bringing the page back up to 12 x 12 square.

I added the house on foam pads first, then the trees to the page.

I backed my photo using more of the Christmas paper before created and embellishment cluster of flowers and holly.

I then added my Spread Joy perspextive and a few Wordfetti from papersnips #50 available from the Fox box plus before finally adding the black star and heart perspextives and a splash of white paint to complete this layout!
