Something Fishy || Incredible || Kathy McElfresh

This page started as the final layout in a Vicki Boutin "class" of sorts featuring the gorgeous Spectrum Sherbet Collection from 49 and Market. I quickly made the decision to cut strips of the paper lace in the same color scheme but I had no idea where I might go from there! And then I remembered "Sea Life", the amazing collection of beachy sets that seemed to come in all the right colors for this collection. A quick search of my phone yielded photos that were perfect for the theme and could be filtered to fit the color scheme. I decided to adorn the areas above the lace with rub-ons from the collection and then to add in torn strips of color-matched scraps from 4 different collections to meet this month's "Mix It Up" Challenge -- which you can find and enter on the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Page. All of this set the stage for lot of Sea Life fun!

The adorable pink sea horse is from the Sea Friends set -- one of the individual sets that make up the Sea Life Collection. I pulled in a shiny pink heart from my stash and pink flip-flops from a summer Fox Box last year.

In this view you can see the "Incredible" title piece that I hoarded from a previous Fox Box -- but that pink color was just perfect for that "pink row" on the page. You also see a couple Sea Life Paper Snips that have words, phrases and cut-apart images that coordinate with the beachy, sea-faring vibe of the collection. I managed to sneak in another heart from my stash and a white seagull from the shop. I filtered the photo to emphasize the yellow and orange colors and brightened the yellow background paper by adding in some orangey rub-ons from the Spectrum Sherbet collection.

The next line on the page was green and I cut netting and leaves from scraps using a BrambleFox die set that's currently out-of-stock but which is worth looking out for! The anchor and starfish were cut from the same scraps using a great die set called Fox Dies #1. The dotty blue fish is from the Sea Life set called Little Fishes and all the fish are perfect for any watery page, even if you're documenting your own little fishes as they discover the neighborhood swimming pool! And the cute little lighthouse is from another Sea Life set called Ocean Waves that also has a beautiful watery blue title piece.

In this view of the "blue line" you can get a glimpse of the cute green turtle swimming in the "seaweed and netting". This little guy is my favorite of the Sea Friends although you'll find that adorable whale in the same set! The snorkel mask is from a FoxBox last summer and way up at the top you'll see the clownfish that swims along with the blue fish in the Little Fishes set!

This page mixes the Spectrum Sherbet collection with bits from Vicki Boutin's Fernwood, and Cocoa Vanilla No Limits & Sunkissed. The clusters of torn strips and rub-ons give it a casual beachy vibe and the photos depict the pure joy of kids at play on the beach. But for me, what pulls it all together is the fun color and texture these lovely seaside Perspextives bring to the page. Hope you'll visit the shop to see these bits and also check out the brand new goodies for this summer.
