Spring memories - Petra de Vroege

Hi sweet friends! Petra here with my very first share for Bramble Fox! I’m so excited to be part of this team and show you my work with these beautiful perspextives.

The layout I have for you today uses a title from the March Fox Box.

I started with creating the diamond shaped layered papers. I wanted to use blue with a splash of yellow. Since the title is yellow and there’s yellow in the photo, it matched perfectly!

I created 3 layers: pattern paper on top, tissue paper and a solid piece of card stock.

To create some dimension, I sew the layers together. After creating all the diamond shapes, I positioned them on my card stock. After that it was time to create my mixed media background. I marked the spots of the diamonds with small pencil stripes so I know where the outlines of my papers are. Then I glued all the pieces together, but didn’t glue them onto the background. Move everything to the side and start with Distress Oxides.

I mixed squeezed lemon with speckled egg and tumbled glass. When my background was done, I placed the large piece with my photo and positioned it over the pencil lines. I adhered the beautiful Spring memories title and also used those cute yellow flowers, which were also in the Fox Box.

I love how it turned out, that yellow is the perfect addition to this page.
