This colorful travel scrapbook layout brings together Travel Words Perspextives, Travel Woodies, Travel Bits, and the Adventure stencil, layered with playful techniques to capture the joy of travel and exploration. The Let’s Go collection from Simple Stories is the perfect match for the vibrant colors and whimsical icons in Bramble Fox's gorgeous new Travel Collection. This page is all about celebrating that sense of adventure and excitement, with lots of texture and dimension to draw the eye in.
Just a little note—since I work in an 8 x 8 format, the elements appear slightly larger on my layouts, which actually makes those beautiful Bramble Fox details stand out even more.
Title Work & Typography: Let Your Words Travel
One of my favorite elements in this collection is the Travel Words pack—it comes with six travel-themed words in that beautiful cursive font, in lovely pink, navy, and cantaloupe tones, so you could potentially create 6 separate layouts with this one pack. I used three of them on this layout to help guide the story and create visual flow across the page.
I started my layout by stenciling the compass from the Adventure stencil #140 using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink—it creates such a soft but energetic background, and I love how it looks on the canvas-textured cardstock. From there, I built a cluster in the bottom right using stickers and fussy-cut tickets from the Let’s Go collection. I added interest with suitcases from the Travel Bits and Travel Woodies, and brought everything together with splatters from the stencil behind the cluster. And of course, I had to add a heart—I always add hearts to the layouts I give away, and I found one in the matching navy from the Cool Hearts collection!
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Extend your background techniques (like stenciling or splatters) behind clusters to visually anchor them and make everything feel connected.

Balanced Clusters: Creating Visual Harmony
To keep the layout balanced, I created clusters on either side of the photos. One of my favorite details is the beautifully etched wooden globe from the Travel Woodies—it adds warmth and texture. I paired it with another small suitcase from the Travel Bits to echo the travel theme. A few more subtle stenciled splatters help carry that background energy across the page.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Repeating key elements (like suitcases or travel icons) in multiple clusters helps unify your design.

Layering Details: Titles & Hidden Layers
Here’s a closer look at the third title from the Travel Words—I love how it adds depth and interest to the top of the page. I also tucked a journaling card from the June Fox Box Plus behind the photo cluster to add another layer without overwhelming the design. These little “peekaboo” details make the layout feel richer and more interactive.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Don’t be afraid to tuck layers behind your photos—those hidden details add depth without clutter.

Finishing Touches: Visual Triangles & Texture
I originally had the bottom left area empty, but decided to add more excitement with layered tags. This gave me the perfect opportunity to create a visual triangle with the navy star from the Blue Cool Stars pack. The navy is such a bold contrast against the softer tones, and I felt like the layout needed just a bit more grounding. I added neutral twine to the tags for extra texture and dimension.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Visual triangles are a powerful design tool—use color or repeated elements to guide the viewer’s eye around your page.

Journaling & Final Details: Bringing It All Together
Here’s a look at the journaling. I positioned the strips slightly askew (rather than perfectly straight) to add a sense of energy and movement to the page—it keeps everything feeling dynamic and playful. One of my favorite tips is to leave your layout overnight and come back with fresh eyes. That’s exactly what I did here, and I decided to add neutral-colored pearls for a subtle shimmer without overwhelming the design.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Let your layout sit overnight before calling it done—you’ll often spot the perfect finishing touches the next day.

I hope this travel-themed scrapbook layout inspires you to dig into your stash, mix textures, and tell your own adventure story! Be sure to check out all the beautiful new products in the shop—they’re perfect for adding dimension and personality to your pages.
