Bright colors, bold layers, and sunny citrus accents come together in this Mediterranean-inspired travel scrapbook layout featuring the August Fox Box Plus from Bramble Fox. The gorgeous Collect Memories title Perspextive, coordinating Paper Snips, stencil, and black heart Perspextives worked together beautifully to create a fresh, vibrant design that documents my friends' unforgettable holiday. I scrapbook in an 8x8 format, so Bramble Fox products often appear a little larger and become eye-catching focal points on my layouts.

A Title That Steals the Show

One of the first things that caught my eye in this month's kit was the beautiful Collect Memories title. I love the combination of the two different fonts and the fact that the bold black acrylic can work with virtually any colour palette. The contrast between the striking black title and the sunny yellows in the Paper Snips creates a strong visual impact while still feeling light and cheerful. To reinforce the Mediterranean vibe of my photos, I paired those sunny yellows with crisp touches of blue throughout the page.

When Life Gives You Lemons... Scrap Them!

I began this layout by stencilling the lemon design from the August Fox Box Plus directly onto my white background. Rather than adding green to the leaves, I chose to use only yellow ink, creating a subtle tone-on-tone effect that adds interest without overwhelming the page. The result feels fresh, bright, and wonderfully clean.

The basket of lemons from the Paper Snips became one of my favourite embellishments on the page. Originally, I had placed it in the top left cluster, but it felt a little too large and heavy there. Moving it beside the journaling transformed it into an anchor for the title and text, helping to ground the entire bottom portion of the layout.

To help the basket and several of the other Paper Snips embellishments stand out, I mounted them on foam adhesive. Raising them slightly off the page adds wonderful dimension while creating soft, natural shadows that give the layout extra depth.

Creating Movement Across the Page

To help the photos stand out, I matted each one with a thin border of black cardstock that ties beautifully into the black title. I then staggered the photos across the page and tucked patterned papers behind them using some really old scraps from my stash. The yellow and blue fish-tail banners peek out from behind the photos, adding colour, movement, and a playful layered effect.

The page is built around three main embellishment clusters that create a visual triangle and naturally guide the eye around the layout. The lemons, flowers, and circular Paper Snips embellishments—topped with dimensional epoxy accents—bring each cluster to life with extra texture and a playful touch. I also added the translucent lemon slices from the Fox Box for extra texture and a fresh, summery feel. The phrase strips from the Paper Snips provided the perfect finishing touch.

💡 Debbi's Design Tip: Don't overlook older scraps when working with a kit. A few coordinating leftovers can stretch your supplies and add extra layers without competing with the featured products.

Tiny Details, Big Difference

This cluster on the left side of the page mirrors many of the elements used throughout the design, helping create a sense of balance and repetition. I tucked one of the black heart Perspextives behind the leaves and flowers rather than placing it on top of the cluster. That small detail helps the embellishment feel integrated into the design rather than an afterthought.

Whenever I create a layout that's going to be gifted, I always include at least one heart somewhere on the page. It's become a little tradition of mine—a quiet reminder that this layout was created with love. For this page, I used two hearts from the Monochrome Hearts pack, which also help create a visual triangle with the bold black title.

The Magic Is in the Last 5%

The top cluster echoes the same combination of florals, leaves, lemons, and another black heart Perspextive, helping maintain balance throughout the page. Repeating key elements is one of the easiest ways to create a polished, cohesive design.

One of my favourite scrapbooking habits is leaving a layout overnight before calling it finished. Looking at it with fresh eyes often reveals little things I might have missed the day before. That's exactly what happened here. The next morning, I felt the clusters needed just a little extra sparkle and dimension, so I added "dew drops" using Crystal Clear Nuvo Drops. They catch the light beautifully and add just the right finishing touch.
