Weekend Shenanigans: A Barbie Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

This 12 x 12 scrapbook layout is inspired by Barbie. Bramble Fox's April Fox Box (which ships on April 3) has you covered! The versatile acrylic titles and embellishments are perfect for any theme. And the film-strip stencil from the April Fox Box Plus will give your page the coolest background ever!

Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my layouts.

The gorgeous aqua mint title was a perfect complement to the pinks I was planning to use for this layout of my nephew posing in a Barbie box, so that was my starting point for choosing my papers and embellishments. I had fun using old scraps on this page and decided black would be a good color to add to the aqua and pink. I layered some papers to hold my title. The circle elements are from Paper Snips #53 from the March Fox Box, as are the tabs and black word strips. Popping Epoxy Stickers on top of the circles gives you automatic flair! The blue word phrases are from Paper Snips 009. It's so awesome how the Bramble Fox products coordinate with each other.

Adding different textures can really spice up a page, and I was pleased to rescue some shiny silver eyelets and fun pink fiber trim. Zig-zag machine stitching adds even more texture.

Fox Cut stencils are one of my favorite products, as you can create a custom background to coordinate with any collection. The stencil in the April Fox Box Plus is exceptionally cool and was perfect for my movie-themed page, though it would definitely work with any theme. The little x's in the background are from the Doodles Fox Stamps #5, which is a must-have for creating interest on your background. There are 10 designs in that stamp set!

I had fun looking for items to layer up with my photo. The tab and black word is from Paper Snips 053. Speaking of the tabs, the Fox Die #16 is such a terrific tool--it's designed to cut out the bottom half of the Paper Snips to have professional-looking die-cuts, but you can also make your own custom tabs with any color/pattern paper! The view master reel was created with a Bramble Fox die. I found some pink tickets in my stash--perfect for a movie-themed layout, and I layered some stars from the Monochrome Stars pack. And lucky me, I found a pink heart in my stash that fit right into an aqua heart!

I echoed the strips from the bottom left of my layout below the photo for cohesion. The cute pink and aqua camera is from Paper Snips 053. I added a pink man from the Little People pack and an aqua arrow from Arrows Galore, which is another must-have, as this pack comes in a whole range of colors and shapes and is perfect for adding a little extra touch to a cluster or pointing something out on your layout. The tiny circle border is from the  Doodles Fox Stamps #5.

I've shared before that one of my most important tips is to let my layout sit overnight before calling it done because I always find my layout needs something more. This time it was the little torn edge with some of the fuchsia polka dot paper peeking through.

If you haven't yet subscribed to the Fox Box, April will be the perfect month to start! And make sure you check out the shop to see all the latest additions.
