Home Alone at Last | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, this is Niki back with you today sharing a layout using goodies from the October Fox Box.

For this layout I have used the word 'home' and the little purple houses. These were both in the October Fox Box. I thought I would make the word 'home' part of my title and those houses are just the cutest hey!

I started off by painting two doilies in three colours of Shimmerz paints. I choose two purple colours and one navy. I applied colour to the doilies using the packaging technique and then I left them to dry. Once dry I positioned them onto my layout.

I've used a mixture of Paige Evans Truly Grateful and Maggie Holmes Heritage for this layout. I choose these collections becuase they contain that pretty mauve colour which went so perfectly with the little houses from the October Fox Box.

The word 'home' came in a lovely dark grey colour. I really love this colour becuase it's not quite so harsh as black and just softens the overall effect a little. I'm really enjoying multi-alpha titles at the moment so I have three fonts for this one...the Perspextive 'Home', the multi print Paige Evans Thickers for 'Alone' and Pinkfresh Studio alphabet stickers for 'at last'. I think the result makes for a title with added interest.

The theme of this layout is back to school. I sent my kiddies back to school after a long summer and we took this picture on the first morning of school. As much as I love them, they constantly argue so I was very happy to send them back to school and for my peaceful house to be restored (with the exception of my baby, but he doesn't count!)
