Afternoon Tea Documented | Julie Taylor | Scrapbook Layout

There’s something rather lovely about an afternoon tea, especially when it’s part of a girly trip! While we were in Belfast, we made time for a gorgeous afternoon tea and, as soon as I saw the Afternoon Tea Perspextive set, I knew I had the perfect photos and story to document.

I started with a soft, subtly patterned background which gave me a pretty base without distracting from the photographs. To bring a little extra detail to the page and tie in with the theme, I added some stencilled coffee rings across the background. I love how these add a little bit of interest while also giving a nod to those all-important cups of tea and coffee!

For the main design, I created two horizontal strips using torn and curled pieces of patterned paper. I placed one strip towards the top of the page and the other towards the bottom, creating two areas for my photos and embellishments. The torn and curled edges add texture and give the layout a relaxed, layered feel.

I added two photos to each strip, keeping the photographs grouped together but allowing plenty of space around them for embellishing. I then built little clusters around the photos using pretty flowers, words and assorted ephemera, tucking pieces underneath and around the edges to help everything blend together.

Of course, the star of the page had to be the Afternoon Tea Perspextive set! These pieces were absolutely perfect for the story and helped bring the whole layout together, adding that finishing touch that makes the theme instantly recognisable.

I love how this page captures not just the afternoon tea itself, but the fun of spending time together on a lovely girly trip to Belfast. Sometimes it’s those simple moments of chatting, laughing and enjoying something delicious together that deserve a place in our scrapbooks!
