Colours of Autumn Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan

Using the October Fox Box Perspextive Colours of Autumn along with with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Woodlands Collection, I created this autumnal layout to capture the beautiful colours and memories from our October scrapbooking week away in Wales.

There is something so special about being in Wales in October. The colours seem to change almost overnight, with the trees putting on their beautiful autumn display and every walk offering another opportunity for a photograph. During our annual scrapbooking week away, we always try to get out for a daily walk and enjoy the scenery around us.

I used six photographs from one of our walks, arranging them in a block design with two photos across the top. Above this I placed the main title perspextive colours of Autumn which I backed with cardstock. I then started to cretae two large clusters around this.

I love how this simple layout lets the photographs take centre stage while still giving me plenty of room for embellishments.

I used the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Woodlands Collection as my main papers, which worked beautifully with the rich autumnal colours in the photographs. To add texture and extra interest, I used Papersnips 098 and fussy cut several leaves, mushrooms and word phrases, and Stencil 148, together with 49 and Market Inks in Pineapple, Strawberry Pie and Shamrock to ink the leaves which I then fussy cut and used as embellishments. These colours worked perfectly with the greens, yellows and warm tones of the autumn landscape.

I also added a second Perspextive title, “October Stories,” which was the perfect addition to the page. A selection of autumn leaves, all from the October Fox Box, finished the layout beautifully.

To give more interest in the lower left corner i fussy cut some mushrooms and a squirell from a journal card and addded them on foam dots to create more dimension.

I love how this page captures more than just the scenery. It records the walks, the changing colours and the special memories we make during our October scrapbooking week. There are certainly plenty more October Stories waiting to be scrapbooked!
