A layout using the title perspextive Bundle Up Time.

There’s something so comforting about those chilly moments when all you want to do is snuggle up and stay warm, and that feeling was the starting point for this layout. Bundle Up Time felt like the perfect title, especially since my sweet pooch was wrapped up snug as a bug in a blanket that inspired the whole design.

I began by cutting a circular aperture from the centre of some crisp white cardstock. Backing it with plaid patterned paper was an easy decision because it matched the blanket I’d wrapped my pup in almost perfectly. That little detail instantly tied the photos and the background together and gave the layout a cosy, homely feel. To add some texture and fun around the circle, I placed under some red pompom trim and then machine stitched some messy lines around the edge. I love how imperfect stitching adds movement and a bit of character.

To balance the design, I added a touch of stencilling, using stencil #130, to the top right and bottom left corners. These areas became the foundation for my two main clusters. I placed my two photos in the bottom left and built up the embellishing around them using a mix of tags, florals, tickets and chipboard pieces. Layering is always one of my favourite parts of the process – it’s where the layout really starts to come to life.

For the smaller cluster in the top right, I included a quote along with a fabric tab and more florals to echo the main cluster without overpowering it. To finish everything off, I sprinkled buttons across the page and added twine threaded through the tags, stitching them securely into place. Those final touches brought extra texture and a handmade feel that I absolutely love.

This layout perfectly captures a cosy, bundled-up moment I’ll always smile about.
Thanks for joining me today.
Until next time,
