There’s something truly special about immersing yourself in nature, and this layout captures the beauty and wonder of my friends’ journey to Krka National Park in Croatia. Inspired by this month’s Fox Box, I set out to recreate the lush greenery and stunning waterfalls that made their adventure so unforgettable.
Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my layouts.

The fern stencil from the Fox Box Plus was the perfect starting point for building my background. I used green distress inks (Bundled Sage and Rustic Wilderness) to add soft, natural texture and bring in a subtle sense of movement that echoes the flowing water in the photos. For the title, I used the gorgeous “Exploring Nature” Perspextive from the Fox Box in that lovely soft teal color. It really pops against the stenciled background and ties in beautifully with the water tones in my photos. The binoculars from the Paper Snips were a must—because what’s a travel adventure without a little sightseeing gear? They’re the perfect touch for exploring those teal-tinted trails through Krka!

Most of the embellishments came from the Paper Snips in the Fox Box Plus—they’re so versatile and packed with fun icons, tags, word strips, and tickets that make layering and storytelling a breeze. To add some texture and realism, I punched eyelets into several of the tags and threaded them with twine, giving the page a well-traveled feel. That teal arrow Perspextive layered over the tags (also from the Fox Box)? It’s like a little tour guide pointing the way through the adventure!

I tucked in a filmstrip embellishment created with Fox Dies #14 to echo the feeling of captured memories and, together with the other kraft-colored elements, create a visual triangle that grounds the design and guides the viewer’s eye across the page. I added the geotag Perspextive from my stash as a nod to the location—because every adventure deserves its spot on the map!

I sprinkled a few teal plus signs from the Travel Elements pack to match the other Perspextives—they’re like little visual nudges pointing right to the journaling and helping balance the whole page. The vintage camera and the brass compassi, fussy cut from the Paper Snips, together capture the spirit of adventure and discovery. I always add hearts to the pages I give away, and this sweet heart clip—with its texture that mimics the metallic eyelets and copper brads I used—is the perfect little touch to show the love I put into each layout. I also tucked tickets behind the matted photos to add a fun, nostalgic element that invites a closer look.

Some standout Paper Snips on this page include “Not All Who Wander Are Lost,” “Nature’s Best,” and “Follow the Road Less Travelled.” Each phrase helps reinforce the spirit of adventure and exploration.
