DOCUMENTING CHERISHED MOMENTS | Paula Davis

Capturing a special moment between my Grandson and his baby sister is one of the reasons why I love to scrapbook. They were on a recent holiday in Menorca and the photo reflects warmth and sentimentality between them.

The large Cherished title is a new addition in the Bramble Fox shop which is available in 3 colours. It is so eye-catching but because of the open font, it doesn't overwhelm the photo. I chose one of my favourite colours - duck egg colour as I find it really easy to use and compliments most collections.

To add interest to the white cardstock, blended Salvaged Patina oxide through Stencil #113 before stamping a little script black ink for extra contrast.

I cut 3 filmstrips from die #14 to provide structure to my arrangement. I placed them either side of the photo and one at the bottom right. Then behind the photo I layered a selection of papers for texture before adding a small torn strip on top of each of the filmstrips. To add more detail, I used stencil #119 to ink dots and dashes to this layer.

I love dies as you can create embellishments to co-ordinate perfectly with your collections. The versatile floral dies (#15) include leaves and layers which can be layered and clustered to give stunning results. I lightly curled the petals and leaves for added dimension and love how they've turned out!
To finish, I added splatters using diluted ink and sprinkled small pearls.
I hope that I've inspired you with this pretty layout capturing a heartfelt moment of my grandchildren together. Thanks for stopping by.
