Creating a layered autumnal layout.

There’s something magical about creating an autumn-themed layout — the cozy colors, crunchy textures, and nostalgic details that capture the heart of the season. For this page, I wanted to celebrate that feeling of warmth and togetherness, so I built my design around layers, texture, and depth.

I started by gathering a mix of paper pieces in rich, seasonal tones — burnt orange, mustard yellow, deep greens and soft neutrals. I layered these at both the top and bottom of my page, mixing in bits of tickets, die cuts, and little frames to add character and visual interest. The overlapping papers create a storybook feel, as if each piece holds a tiny memory of its own.

Once the foundation was set, I added my photos right over those layered clusters. Nestling the images among the papers helped them feel connected to the design, rather than sitting on top of it. It’s one of my favorite tricks for giving layouts that cozy, “gathered together” vibe — perfect for autumn moments spent outdoors, splashing in the brook, or crunching through fallen leaves.

For my title, I chose Enjoy Today — a simple reminder to savor the present. I backed the title with patterned paper to help it really pop against the layered background, making it a cheerful focal point. To finish things off, I sprinkled around a few smaller perspextives, from the forest friends pack, in coordinating colors. Those glossy, dimensional accents catch the light beautifully and tie everything together.

The end result is a page full of warmth, texture, and joy — a perfect reflection of the season. Whether you’re scrapbooking family photos or quiet autumn walks, layering papers and thoughtful details brings those memories to life in the most beautiful way.
Thanks for joining me today.
Until next time,
