Friends Together

One of the best things about scrapbooking is preserving those special memories with the people who make them unforgettable, and this layout does exactly that! Recently, we took a short trip across to Belfast to celebrate an upcoming birthday and spend some time with friends who live there. Of course, with seven scrapbookers together, there was only ever going to be one outcome – a mountain of photos!

One of our group was incredibly creative and made these adorable emoji versions of each of us, along with a postcard-style photo. The moment I saw them, I knew they would be perfect for a scrapbook page.

I began with a sheet of white cardstock and used some ink through Fox Cut Stencil #140 to create a beautiful compass design in the bottom right corner. To bring in some colour and pattern, I added patterned paper across the top half of the page, then layered a punched contrasting border strip and a scalloped sticker underneath. A little hand stitching helped add extra texture and detail.

The small emoji photos were tucked into two photo strips which I positioned at angles across the top of the layout. The larger group photo was placed towards the bottom left, layered on patterned papers to help it stand out. Once the foundation was complete, I had fun embellishing with pieces from an older Travel Collection, including tickets, tabs, chipboard elements, fussy-cut pieces, shamrock patches and brads.

To finish, I added the title, Friends Together, just below the photo cluster, along with a geotag and camera embellishment from the travel set. The Ireland badge was actually brought back with us from the trip, making it the perfect finishing touch and a lovely reminder of a fabulous few days spent celebrating, laughing and making memories with great friends.
