Gather Autumn Layout with Tarrah McLean

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, I mean who doesn't love those gorgeous earthy and warm colours the season brings, right?! Today I have a warm and heartfelt layout to share that I created using the beautiful 'Gather' perspextive title, the cute leaf perspextives and Paper Snips #81 all from the awesome October Fox Box. This months box is packed with cozy vibes, perfect for capturing those crisp autumn days, family moments, and everything we’re thankful for.

I also used the gorgeous Autumn Pumpkin cut file cutting it from a chocolate brown cardstock. I love how the chocolate brown pops off the blue cardstock background.

This layout features a special photo of me with my two boys, capturing one of those everyday yet magical moments that mean the world. I wanted the design to reflect the warmth of family, the richness of fall, and the sentiment of gratitude—so the goodies in the October Fox Box couldn't have been more perfect!

The gorgeous "gather" perspextive title in rich purple was the perfect title centerpiece. I love how it pops against the layered pumpkin and foliage cut file in the background. The script font adds a soft, inviting feel that ties everything together beautifully.

To complement the main title, I layered on some of the smaller word and phrase strips from Paper Snips #81 from the October Fox Box, including:

• "Cozy up Together"

• "Give Thanks"

• "Happy Family Fun"

• "Happy Little Moments"

• "Thankful for Today"

Each one helped tell the story of this moment without overpowering the photo. I used them like little narrative breadcrumbs throughout the page, drawing the eye around the composition.

💡 Tarrah’s Design Tip: When working with Perspextives or acrylic embellishments, layer them over darker or patterned paper to really make them stand out. For this layout, placing the "gather" piece over the rich brown leaf cluster helped it pop off the page while still feeling cohesive.

The October Fox Box truly helped bring this layout to life. The colours, the sentiments, and the mix of materials gave me everything I needed to tell a meaningful story with style and cohesion. If you’re on the fence about subscribing, this box is a must-have for autumn storytelling.
