Hey crafty friends

Cheryl here today with my monthly cat feature aka the Bramble Fox Challenge! This month’s challenge featured a sketch, which I always find so helpful when creating 12x12 layouts. Such a blank canvas can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, but sketches make it so much easier to just start creating.

As it’s finally getting a little bit colder over here in the UK, I decided to use a collection with really soft and muted colours. Jen Hadfield’s Peaceful Heart collection featured just the right amount of autumnal colours I wanted on this page.

I started by choosing my favourite patterned papers for the big starburst and layered everything else on top of it. I didn’t have any landscape photos, so I used a 3x4 portrait photo of Lexie instead and added flower clusters to the left and right, so make the focus point of my picture appear a little bit wider than it actually is.

The title “Beautiful” is in a very soft cream colour and goes perfectly with this collection. I also sprinkled a couple of white super stars and mini stars around the page, as shown on the sketch
