Guest Designer Monique Lowe
Hi Foxy Friends! I'm so excited to share my first layout as this month's Guest Designer for Bramble Fox! The sweet Mini Palm Trees and accompanying sun Perspextives were the inspiration for my fluorescent colour scheme. Those gorgeous neons really pop!
I started off by using some neon watercolours to create my mixed media background. To add a bit of contrast, I made use of one sheet of black patterned paper ('New Ideas' from the Color Study Collection by Vicki Boutin). I used this to create a border around my layout and the gutted centre as a large matt for my photos and title.
I added some lovely little stenciled hearts using 'Fox Cut #14' and fluorescent texture pastes, echoing my mixed media background. I stenciled onto the black photo matt, making sure some of those sweet hearts spilled over the edges onto the painted background. I was careful to keep the stencil colours aligned with my mixed media background colours. I especially love where two colours overlap, creating a vibrant new neon! I then used the texture pastes to stamp some hearts which made lovely 'handmade' ephemera for some tone on tone embellishing.
Once my photos were stuck down, I added the 'Summer Sunshine' Perspextives title pieces - the perfect title for these pics of me and my daughter lying on the grass in the bright summer sunshine. I finished my layout off with two little palm tree pieces and a gorgeous sunshine - all Perspextives available in the Bramble Fox online shop.
