Hello Sunshine Scrapbook layout - Wendy Meffan

For this layout, I wanted to capture the vibrant joy of our day out at Chelsea in Bloom, and the 49 & Market Crafty Garden collection paired with the October “Hello Sunshine” perspextive was the perfect combination. The bright yellows throughout the collection highlighted the sunshine-filled theme and worked beautifully with our photo on the giant swing surrounded by the stunning yellow floral display.

I started with a soft patterned background from the Crafty Garden range, letting the design add subtle texture without overpowering the photo. To build my layers, I tucked in tags and ephemera from the collection, creating pockets of interest around the main image. The ephemera pieces—florals, little labels, and the film strip—were layered to echo the lush feel of the display we experienced in person.

The star of the page is the bold yellow “Hello Sunshine” perspextive which I placed at the bottom of the photo. It draws the eye and immediately sets the mood, tying the whole page together. I love how its translucent shine adds dimension and a touch of whimsy.

To emphasize the swing photo, I clustered yellow-toned embellishments around it, repeating shades of sunshine yellow to reflect the abundance of flowers. A few pops of green and soft neutrals balanced the brightness, so the layout feels full but not overwhelming.

This page radiates happiness and really tells the story of the day—full of colour, laughter, and creativity. The mix of perspextive, tabs, and layered ephemera creates depth, while the yellow theme pulls everything into harmony. Looking back at it, the layout feels just as cheerful and uplifting as the day itself.
