October Adventure: A Fall-Themed Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons to scrapbook — the warm tones, the textures, the crisp feeling of fall days — and the October Fox Box captured all of that magic beautifully. For this layout, I used the “October” title and the adorable mushroom Perspextives from the October Fox Box, along with the stencil and Paper Snips from the Fox Box Plus. I also mixed in some other Bramble Fox goodies from the shop to enhance the page. The result is a layout full of cozy, autumn vibes. Crafting a Standout Title

The “October” title from the Fox Box is such a show-stopper. I paired it with small tile letter stickers to build a custom subtitle, which gave me the flexibility to make the title more personal to my photos. I placed the title over my background — an old BasicGrey patterned paper from my stash that was just right for an autumn theme. Together, they set the perfect mood for the page.

Building Embellishment Clusters

One of my favorite pieces in the October Fox Box is the delightful mushroom Perspextives (in rich brown and a warm autumn burnt-orange that matches the title). I tucked them into foliage clusters fussy-cut from P13 paper and layered in word strips from the Paper Snips in Fox Box Plus. For a sentimental touch, I always hide a little heart into layouts I give away — so I popped a heart onto the pumpkin here.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: When you spot pocket spaces around your title or clusters, add a small accent (like a heart, enamel dot, or tiny detail). It fills the design, adds extra dimension, and helps your eye travel across the page.

Adding Texture with Layers & Stenciling

To give the layout more dimension, I added a mesh element as another hidden layer behind the photo block using a Bramble Fox die from my stash. Then I stamped throughout the page background for subtle texture.

Borders, Inking & Fixing Oopses

At the top, I layered some torn brown paper over the border I’d cut with Fox Dies #21 Office Borders. I inked edges for definition. When I accidentally stamped the phrase upside-down, Nuvo Drops came to the rescue. I also clipped on tassels to an old clip as a fun detail and texture boost.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Don’t stress over little mistakes like a crooked stamp or smudge — they can usually be covered with an embellishment, Nuvo Drops, or even a strategically placed sticker. Sometimes these “oops” moments lead to creative details you wouldn’t have added otherwise!

Filling the Lower Right Corner

I had a fairly wide empty space in the lower right corner, so I used the stencil from the Fox Box Plus to echo the leaf shapes and movement across the layout. I then scattered word strips from Cozy Autumn Paper Snips 014 (in a playful, slightly random way) to hint at falling leaves. To make sure the page felt balanced, I added a corner shape cut from the same brown paper as the top border, which ties the design together and keeps the bottom edge from feeling unfinished. To tie it all together, after letting my layout sit overnight, I added tiny gold Nuvo Drops for just a hint of sparkle.

💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: If a layout feels “finished” or maybe still a bit flat, walk away and revisit it later. A fresh eye often reveals what one little accent or adjustment it needs.

Creating this layout reminded me why I love scrapping fall stories so much — the colors, textures, and little details all come together to capture the feeling of the season.
