For this layout, I wanted to capture a special moment of my son dressed up before his best friend’s wedding. The photograph called for a soft yet elegant colour palette, so the dusty pink and grey September title perspextives were the perfect complement. I chose to use both Oh Happy Day and Great Stuff title perspextives on my layout.

I began by using stencil #106 to create a subtle, pale patterned background. This added just enough texture without overwhelming the rest of the page, giving me a delicate foundation to build on.
Next, I tore a couple strips of patterned paper and arranged them vertically to form a strong base layer for the photograph. This not only grounded the photo but also introduced depth and dimension. To enhance the design, I used the Bramble Fox Film Strip die to cut a film strip and tucked it slightly behind the picture. Placing the photo off-centre gave the page a more natural flow and allowed space for additional details.

For titles, I chose the perspectives Oh Happy Day and Great Stuff, placing one above and one below the photo. These phrases captured both the celebratory feel of the occasion and the pride I felt seeing my son looking so smart. Around the photo, I embellished with delicate floral ephemera pieces from Pinkfresh Studio. Their soft tones blended beautifully with the dusty pink and grey palette, while their layered placement added a touch of romance.

To balance the page, I created a side cluster echoing the main design. This smaller grouping incorporated more florals, coordinating paper scraps, and two Bramble Fox butterflies. The butterflies added movement and a subtle whimsical touch, while still keeping the overall look refined.

The result is a layout that feels joyful, stylish, and perfectly suited to this treasured memory.
