Scrapbook Layout with a Sweater Weather Cut File | Debbi Tehrani

My scrapbook layout features several other fall-inspired products which coordinate beautifully with the Cozy Days collection by Simple Stories. (Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my pages.) Autumn is synonymous with sweater weather, and Bramble Fox has products featuring both! Check out the brand-new Sweater Weather Cut File, which features a super-cute title and two sweaters--a fall sweater and a sweater sporting a snowflake, perfect also for your winter layouts.

Just look at the beautiful detail on both the title and the sweater! I've outlined my cut file with a fine-tip pen to make the detail stand out. I've tried a lot of cut files, and Bramble Fox's cut files are by far the best I've ever used. Not only are they beautifully intricate but they cut as smooth as butter and also include backing pieces so you don't have the labor of tracing and hand-cutting.

If you're hesitant to try mixed media because paint seems to have a mind of it's own, try the Fox Stamps #4 | Splatters, which has a selection of splatters and splodges with full control to enhance your projects. I started my layout by creating a mixed media background with these wonderful stamps and three colors of Distress Inks (Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber). I then splashed a few drops of maroon watercolor on the background.

I added a small cluster at the top left of my layout using a label cut out of Paper Snips and a phrase from the Autumn Wordfetti. I have a great tip for you. For some reason, the etching on my gold Wordfetti was very faint, so I scribbled on top of my Wordfetti with a white Faber Castel Gelatto and then wiped it off, leaving the white inside the etched grooves. I imagine a white crayon would do the same trick.

The maroon maple leaf in the Skeleton Leaves had a few leaves in a maroon color that perfectly matched the Cozy Days collection. I also outlined the Cozy Days die cuts to make them stand out a bit more.

I layered the sweet photo of my friend's dog on plaid paper to match her sweater and some tags and then added a tab and a word strip from the Autumn Woodland Paper Snips 042, which coordinate perfectly with the Cozy Days collection. Some twine adds texture and interest to the tags. That squirrel was an afterthought, as the "hello fall" die cut was getting lost in the background, and I think he adds the perfect touch of whimsy and cute factor to my page.

And of course I had to add a heart to my page because I always add hearts to the pages I give away. An open heart in shimmery champagne gold from the Hearts Special Edition adds a little glitz and complements the colors of my page. I added another Skeleton Leaf pack to the right cluster and another Autumn Wordfetti.
