Sunny Days Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan

There’s something magical about capturing a perfect day in a scrapbook layout, and my recent visit to the Tulleys Tulip Festival felt like the ideal story to document. With sunshine overhead and rows upon rows of vibrant blooms stretching into the distance, it truly felt like a little slice of Holland tucked away in the Sussex countryside.

For this layout, I was inspired by the Sunny Days Perspextive from the June Fox Box, which couldn’t have been more fitting. The warm tones and playful details echoed the joy and brightness of that afternoon perfectly, helping me bring that light, airy feeling onto the page.

I paired the Sunny Days Perspextive with the Pink Lemonade collection by Simple Stories, bringing in soft pinks, fresh yellows, and a hint of sweetness that complemented my photos beautifully.

To build the layout, I used three strips of photos across the page, attaching each strip with a tag at the end to add a fun, interactive feel. This design helped tell the story of the day in a simple, flowing way—almost like a snapshot timeline of our wander through the tulip fields. Around the photos, I layered chipboard pieces and floral ephemera to frame the images and add texture.

To enhance the theme, I incorporated some older mini flower, a heart and a butterfly Perspextive, which added dimension and a delicate, whimsical touch. I also included a few word phrases from Paper Snips #093, placing them strategically to highlight special moments and bring the story together.

This page is such a joyful reminder of a truly special day.
