Standing in the shadow of the Colosseum is an unforgettable experience—and scrapbooking those moments lets you relive them again and again. For this layout, I wanted to merge the awe of ancient architecture with the playful, modern touches Bramble Fox products bring to a page. Using the XL Snapshots Perspextive, Travel Elements, and Paper Snips from the September Fox Box (plus a few favorite extras from my stash), I layered textures, colors, and shapes to create a page that feels both timeless and full of life. I worked from a sketch in the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group—you can see it below—and I love how it gave me a solid starting point while still letting me add my own travel-themed twist.
Since I scrap in the 8 x 8 format, the elements tend to appear a bit larger on my pages, which really helps showcase the bold designs of the Bramble Fox products.

The bold aqua Snapshots XL title immediately commands attention and is available in other colors to suit any project. To complement these Colosseum photos, I chose older patterned papers from my stash with an architectural, antiquities vibe. The zig-zag border—made with an older Bramble Fox die—ties in perfectly with the green in my papers, helping the whole page feel cohesive. I also added an Arrow Perspextive and a metal photo corner, just for those little extra touches that add character, texture, and interest without overwhelming the design.

No travel-themed page is complete without fun, whimsical touches. I added the tiny airplane and geotag from the Travel Elements set, along with a silver airplane charm dangling from baker’s twine. These accents add a sense of movement and adventure, perfect for capturing the energy of a sightseeing day.

To form a strong visual triangle as well as add extra texture, I repeated metal elements in three places. I dusted off an old 7gypsies photo turn from my stash. The arrow shape echoes the other arrow on my layout. Hearts—something I always include on layouts I give away—add warmth and a personal touch. The big red heart is from the Paper Snips in the September Fox Box Plus, layered over a journaling card from the same set. I added several heart Perspextives to carry the theme of love throughout the page. I cut a red frame in half so I could use it in two spots—stretching my supplies while keeping the page cohesive.

Another pop of red comes from a translucent heart layered over a star from the Paper Snips. These sit on top of Film Strip Border from Fox Dies #20, which echo the little die-cut edges peeking from behind the photos. Cutting the journaling spot in half gave me an extra piece to tuck in, and a metal compass charm tucked behind the Colosseum photo hints at exploration and world travel.

At the top of the page, the globe Perspextive anchors my final cluster, paired with a red heart to repeat the motif from my other embellishment groupings. The repetition of hearts, circles, and film strip elements brings the whole design together and keeps the eye moving around the layout.

If you’re telling a travel story, try mixing bold statement pieces with smaller charms and accents. Bramble Fox Perspextives and Paper Snips make it easy to add layers of meaning and personality while keeping your pages visually exciting.
