A+ Scrapbooking: School Days Inspiration

Nothing says “back to school” like the classic combination of apples, books, and cheerful smiles! For this layout, I used the School Days XL Title Perspextive and pieces from the School Elements pack, along with the distressed brick stencil from the November Fox Box Plus. I also mixed in a few favorite Bramble Fox goodies from my stash to tie the whole design together.
Please note that I create 8x8 scrapbook layouts, so embellishments and Perspextives appear larger in proportion—perfect for making a big visual statement on a smaller canvas.

Big Title, Big Impact
The oversized “School Days” Perspextive instantly steals the spotlight, and I loved backing it with graph paper to echo the school theme. I used the distressed brick stencil with Distress Oxides in Antique Linen and Saltwater Taffy to add subtle texture over a lined notebook patterned paper—a fun nod to school days gone by. The patterned papers are from the Hello, It’s Me collection by Rosie’s Studio—proof that even non-school collections can shine on a classroom-inspired layout!
Debbi’s Design Tip: Repurpose themed papers creatively—look for patterns or motifs that support your layout’s theme, even if the collection itself isn’t theme-specific.

Charming School Details
The School Elements pack is full of adorable Perspextives, and I couldn’t resist the tiny stack of books with their beautiful etched details. To complement the outdoor photos, I added floral and honeybee die-cuts, plus a sweet gold star clip for a touch of school-themed whimsy.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Use small metallic accents like clips or brads to bring a hint of sparkle and realism to everyday themes.

Little Layers of Learning
To create borders along the top and bottom edges of my layout, I added torn strips of typewriter key-patterned paper from a 6x6 pad. I balanced the second photo with a black clipboard topper, created using an older Bramble Fox die, then added a tiny tassel and a word sticker that perfectly captures this student’s confident attitude. I created a cluster near the photo with a yellow cassette tape die-cut to form a visual triangle that guides the eye around the page.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: It can be tricky figuring out how to use 6x6 papers on larger layouts. Try adding small torn sections at the borders or corners—they’re perfect for adding pops of pattern without overwhelming the page.

Heartfelt Touches
I always add a heart to pages I gift, so I popped a black heart Perspextive from the Monochrome Hearts pack onto the pencil cup and added a sweet pink heart clip onto the open journal embellishment. The cluster of books, clips, and school-themed die-cuts completes the cozy classroom vibe.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Personal motifs—like hearts, stars, or initials—add meaning and consistency to your scrapbooking style.

An Apple a Day
What’s a school layout without an apple? The tiny red apple Perspextive from the School Elements pack sits perfectly on the “L” of the title. It’s mirrored by the red book and cassette tape, forming another subtle visual triangle. I added Nuvo Drops for texture and shine near each cluster for a playful finishing touch.
💡 Debbi’s Design Tip: Small pops of a bold color (like red here) add energy and help key elements stand out. When adding embellishments, also think in threes—creating visual triangles helps balance the layout and makes it more cohesive.
