A Christmas Pocket to Store Photos and Tags

A pocket is a perfect way to tuck in tags, journaling or extra photos - just what you need on a festive layout.

Going with the traditional red and green for a Christmas layout, I trimmed the cardstock down to 11 1/2" square and distressed the edges. I gutted a sheet of the patterned paper to make a green border.

To add interest to the background, I blended green ink through the festive Christmas Tree stencil #82. This handy stencil has 2 designs including little candy canes!

I cut out a large pocket from two contrasting papers and stitched around the edge with the green embroidery floss. I mounted the pocket layout using foam pads to allow me to store the tags.

The Photograph Perspextive is from the November Fox Box - I love the way it pops against the background. I added a small tag with red and white twine and a sprig of mistletoe then some Wordfetti from the collection.

Under my photo I added more mistletoe, leaves and "the season to be cheerful" from Paper Snips #50 which came with the Fox Box Plus, along with a black Perspextive star. On the left side of the layout I created another cluster with a Paper Snip file label and embellishments from the collection.

At the top of the pocket, I dressed distressed tags with coordinating ribbon and floral embellishments. The Fox Box Plus includes epoxy flair. To make a faux flair button, you simply punch out the flair design from the Paper Snips and adhere it over the top. I finished the layout with with a few splashes of diluted white paint.

I used the following to make this layout:

Thanks so much for stopping by.
